There’s a lot of news in WWE this week…rather MONTH.

  • Edge underwent successful surgery to repair his torn left pectoral muscle this past weekend. He will return in about 4 months.
  • As a result of Edge’s injury, a 20-man battle royal was held last Friday to determine the new World Heavyweight Championship. The Great Khali won, and successfully defended the title against Kane and Batista at the Bash last Sunday.
  • Dusty Rhodes was given a hard kick to the temple following Cody Rhodes’ match against Randy Orton. Can you guess who did it?
  • Randy Orton has been named the #1 Contender for the WWE title. John Cena will defend the gold at SummerSlam this August against the Legend Killer. Right after the announcement by Coachman, RKO RKO’ed Cena and left him flat in the ring – similar to what has happened with Khali and Lashley.
  • Triple H is set to return in time for SummerSlam. Multiple videos have been shown to advertise it.
  • King Booker and Jerry “The King” Lawler are going to battle out who the real King is next week on RAW. Tune in a 9/8c on USA Network.

John Morri-who?

•July 26, 2007 • 3 Comments

John Morrison. Last Tuesday, July 17, Johnny Nitro was set to have a major announcement. Apparently, Johnny Nitro didn’t give any announcements. John Morrison did.

There is no longer a WWE wrestler with the name Johnny Nitro. The name is John Morrison. Morrison doesn’t have blonde hair, it’s darker brown. I have to say, he still sucks.

Although he did defeat CM Punk at the Bash this past Sunday, and although is is the ECW Champion, somebody’s gonna come from behind and steal it away from him. I guarantee it.

whc-belt.gifLast night during the taping of Friday Night SmackDown! Edge was injured in a non-title match. He was stripped of his title because he’d be out for 4-6 months. The WWe rulebook states that a champ must put his title on the line every 30 days max. and therefore, Edge can’t be the World Heavyweight Champion anymore. So, there was a 20 man battle royal last night. You will never guess who the winner of the WHC title was. Here are a few clues that should mark it down.

1. He is not billed from America.

2. He was drafted from his previous brand to SmackDown! last month.

3. He will probably be the WHC for a looooooooong time.

Can you guess? The new World Heavyweight Champion on Friday Night SmackDown! as of Tuesday, July 17, 2007 in Laredo, Texas is…(do NOT scroll down if you want to wait and see this Friday on the CW)
